Stewart Hawthorn (42) – new Managing Director in Grieg Seafood BC (Canada)

As earlier reported, the present Managing Director in Grieg Seafood BC, Peter Gibson, is retiring in 2010. Grieg Seafood has employed Stewart Hawthorn as new Managing Director in Grieg Seafood BC. Stewart will start on 13th September 2010. Stewart comes from Scotland and is both a citizen of the United Kingdom as well as of New Zealand.
Stewart Hawthorn holds a master degree in Aquaculture from the University of Stirling, Scotland. For the last 13 years, Stewart has been the general manager of New Zealand King Salmon. Stewart’s long career in salmon farming started as site manager for Marine Harvest in Scotland, before he moved to New Brunswick, Canada, where he held the position as production manager for 3 years prior to moving to New Zealand.

 

Tor Eirik Homme (46) – Director Feed and Nutrition in the Grieg Seafood Group
Tor Eirik Homme has been employed in the newly established position as Director Feed and Nutrition in the Grieg Seafood Group. The position will have the responsibility for the procurement and selection of feed as well as the overall responsibility for the Group wide improvement processes within feed and feed performance, sustainability and food safety. The position will be part of the Group Management Team and based at the Group’s headquarter in Bergen. Tor Eirik Homme will start on 6th September 2010.

Tor Eirik Homme is currently marketing and development manager in EWOS, Norway. Tor Eirik has for the last 16 years held various positions within EWOS. Tor Eirik holds a master degree in Aquaculture from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and he also has PhD courses in Aquaculture from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim.  

 
Frode Mathisen (39) – Director Biological Performance and Planning in the Grieg Seafood Group
Frode Mathisen has been appointed Director Biological Performance and Planning, a newly established position to further strengthen the Group’s continuous focus on biological performance. The position will have particular focus on the integrated production planning and optimization from smolt to harvest, and will be part of the Group Management Team, based in Bergen. From 2008, Frode held the position as Group Freshwater Manager. Prior to this, Frode held various positions with Grieg Seafood, Marine Harvest and Stolt Seafarm. Frode holds a master degree in Aquaculture from the University in Bergen.
